‘Disposable’ e-mail accounts

If you ever need to give your email address to a site that you do not trust, always use an alternate (secondary) email account rather than your main email account. That way, if your details are passed onto a mailing list, your main account remains safe

If your ISP allows you to create your own email accounts, set one up specifically for this purpose. Otherwise, opt for a webmail account, such as Hotmail or Mail.Com.

Once the account starts to attract too much spam, simply close the account, and move onto another one.
